Monday! August 20th – DG welcomes JANE CASSADY on new book tour! Musical Guest: SHANE HALL! Plus IRON POET QUALIFIER!
POETRY FEATURE: JANE CASSADY probably wants to hug you. She writes “Poetic License Horoscopes” for Sibling Rivalry Press, The Legendary, and Critical Mass, the Philadelphia City Paper’s arts and culture blog. Let’s make her feel super welcome in Worcester!!!!
MUSICAL GUEST: SHANE HALL - we APPLAUD corporate america this week for kicking our hero to the unemployment curb! We finally get to see our former DG Music Director, Ticklebomb Leader, favorite NerdCore Rap Star and all around resident Bananarchist cut loose with some music, busking it out like the rest of us! Maybe Shane wanted to keep the 9 to 5 for now, but we hate casual fridays! We like formally kick-ass Mondays! and this is just the musical guest to make us dance our way to economic recovery! By the way, my man’s got THE ALBUM of the YEAR OUT NOW! DIG IT HERE. At least ACT like you know!
BONUS RUCKUS: IRON POET QUALIFIER! “DEVENNEY vs. ?????”
This could be a battle of ex-youth poetry slam all-stars (still working out the details) as recent feature and word blazer ERIC DEVENNEY takes on the challenge of poetry kitchen stadium for a shot at YUNUS’ championship title! 3 rounds, 3 poetry presentations, 2 competitors, 3 categories, 3 judges and one diabolical secret ingredient brought to us by Chairman YOSH SHARTIN!
Snacks! Visual Arts! Backing Band and the return (we hope) of your sickly curator NICHOLAS EARL DAVIS! You should maybe take a break from being lame and come down for this! The Campaign to elect YOSH & CHICKEN approve this message!
